You're right, the "Treat captions as raw html" setting does not change anything. It seems to be a bug IMHO. See my © when the box is unchecked... Same with brackets, ...

That's because of the text encoding. Most likely you use v3 with a template from v2.6. In version 2.6 you could select the text encoding in the HTML settings:

You need to mention the file names in the HTML source code otherwise they get ignored. I have requested a change long time ago but nothing happened. Now I state the file names as comment and it works ...
