I have iViewMedia Pro 2.5.1 and using OS10.2.6. Everything seems to be working fine. I want to upgrade to Panther...but I am nervous about crashing I have heard about. Is it safe? Anyone else using Panther and IVMP 2.5.1 without problems?

I've had no problems with 10.3.4 (and below).

You'll find panther runs better than 10.2.6
Just take your time and apply all the updates and don't forget to do a repair permissions with disk utility.

I second Peter's recommendations. Before and after installing 10.3, repair disk permissions with Disk Utility. Then apply the Mac OS X Combined (10.3.4) Update 10.3.4. I would also update Quicktime to 6.5.1. Then repair disk permissions again. That will go a long way to keeping your upgrade worry free.

Hope this has been of some help. Good luck.

I haven't heard of any crashing and 10.3.4 runs like a dream for me. Old Toad's install sequence is definitely the tried-and-true way to get there. I would only add that before the final permissions repair, run Software Update to pick up any minor updates like the latest AirPort driver that came out the other day. Then run your final permissions repair.
