Is the current version of Catalog Reader compatible with the latest version of Media Pro? On both the Product Info and Download pages for CR on the website it says it will work with Media Pro 1.5 and 2, but no mention of v3.

Any tips for a first time user wanting to send a catalog on CD to a client who is computer literate but not very experienced with DAM? (PC to PC, so I don't have to worry this time about cross-platform issues).

Thanks,

Hi,

working with iView MediaPro 3 catalogs is a given. I think you're right it would be clearer if that page specifically mentioned that.

My tip is to use the view option and the configration of the info and organize panels so that the information the client needs to see is shown and anything they don't need to see is hidden.

For instance the Info panel has over 20 fields in the annotations section alone. If the client is only interested in keywords then hide the others. Do remember that you can't show something in Catalog Reader that was hidden in MediaPro, so don't hide something that could be interesting to them. But if you only show the interesting information then it's not as daunting to a new user.

Thanks, Phil.

Good idea about what to show/hide for client viewing.
