. . . have now registered so that must be a good sign.

Could someone confirm that I can only have Category Sets ''Subsets '' in iView MPro - which seems strange.

A fairly simple facility that most photographers would need is deemed a Pro facility? I appreciate there are work-arounds like keywords and col coding but that defeats the whole premise of category Sets doesnt it?

Strange if true.

John:

Welcome to the iView Forum. Not clear on your question.

As opposed to what? Are you referring to having hierarchical keywords? If so that has been a frequent complaint and requested enhancement.

You should post your enhancement request here: User Suggestions

Do you Twango?

I assumed John was asking if this was available only in MediaPro (rather than Media).

I've never used Media so I have no idea what it does or doesn't make available.

Just tried to create a hierarchical catalog set in V 2.7 and it would not let me. Just straight sets like keywords, etc.

Anyway I guess that's the answer he didn't want.

Thanks for your input guys - between you you worked out what I was on about. :)

As I said previously, why no facility to subset the category structure, its such a simple facility and its not worth paying an extra 100 for!

. . and as a case of interest I am an ex pro photographer who over a couple of years has made a personal return to photography and have no need for the extra bells and whistles supplied with the pro version of iView but would have thought the feature I require would be standard on even the most simple of DAM systems.

I will post this in the suggestions area

Thanks again for your replies

Didn't work for me either. Try the Support button at the top of the page. Under it will be Support Home. Once there look for the User Suggestion link or see if this link will work: http://www.iview-multimedia.com/product/feedback/usersuggestion_step2.jsp
