|First, I hope the v4 due soon addresses the following issues:
-if I make any changes to a gallery it has to rebuild the ENTIRE thing. Even if I don't change a single image, it has to rerender every photo. The slightest edit means redoing the entire process. JAlbum (which is free) does a good job of re-rendering galleries....if only it read IPTC data correctly for my template
-Upload to web will only work the first time. If you check the 'skip exising files' it will lock up your FTP server. Told the developers about it months ago and it has survived two updates.
So in light of these shortcomings how can I speed up generating galleries? My settings are:
G4 dual 867 (thus the speed issue)
iView 3.?? the latest
Files are all DNG
Thumbnail settings are 320pix and med quality
no full screen previews
Will adding full screen previews to my catalog speed up gallery generation?
Why do my DNG files look one way in iView (my RAW edits are visible...color, cropping, etc) but the gallery does not reflect these changes?
Yup....I'm thiiiiiiiis close to ditching iView for all but cataloging in bulk. When I get the MacPro Aperture will likely take its place for most day to day organizational needs. I'll give v4 a shot, but if its a rebadged v3. It goes to that neglected corner of my HD.
