Hi
I've taken a liking to Coverflow in Mac OSX 10.5 (Leopard) as it can be a quick way of looking at a group of images.
However I note that IVMP may cause a decrease in image quality in Coverflow. I suspect this is along the lines of what's been reported in other forums in regards to Photoshop and Coverflow.
I usually import my images from my camera(jpegs) using IVMP. I suspect this gives a 128x128 pixel image in Coverflow. Altering the thumbnail size within IVMP makes no difference to the appearance in Coverflow.
If however I import my images directly to a folder eg by dragging and dropping and then open the folder in IVMP, then those images are fine and display well in Coverflow (at presumably 512x512 pixels).
I can also strip out the desktop thumbnails that have been made by IVMP importation (the first method above) and then Finder rebuilds them to the higher resolution.
However I'm rather set in my workflow and wonder if there's an easier approach (I suspect not).
I think programmes such as Photoshop/Bridge have the ability to turn off creation of thumbnails (I can't test this as I don't have CS3) but there doesn't seem to be any equivalent in IVMP
The behaviour in MS EM SP1 is identical
