Giovanni,
Do a search in this forum, someone wrote a script called I think 'Start xxx' where xxx is the application you want to start from iView. The file name is then passed correctly, even several file names in one go.

In the Expression Media forum John Beardsworht posted a script you can modify and use.

I solved this problem today on my WinXP Computer with downgrading to QuickTime 6.4. Now iView 3.1.3 is dealing with long filenames.

Hi,
With iView updating QT to 7.3.1 and not 7.4+ will help prevent the 8+3 bug. Expression Media 1 SP1 Rollup and v2 fixes the bug for later versions of QuickTime. _________________ -- Robert

Hi,
Good news and bad news. Once the Catalog has lost the connection to the original items the damage is done. Even upgrading to Expression Media 2 won't fix them. What you need to do is reset each folder path manually. Or revert from a back up Catalog.
The good news is importing new items will have the correct paths without truncation. _________________ -- Robert
