I've run into an annoying problem: when I modify file/date information for files already catalgoued, iView does not reflect changes and uses the information recorded at import.

This means that if I want to set the creation date of a file to some data present in the caption (not Exif date or IPTC which get automatically imported), and I have to do it via shell scripting or AppleScript, these changes will not show up in iView unless I trash the already catalogued files/folders and reimport. A simple Update on the folder is not enough.

Is there a way, even via AppleScript, to tell iView to update catalogue data for a given file folder?

Maybe this is too simple for what you're talking about. I "Rebuild Thumbnail" which updates to recent file changes.

This is it! So simple yet so unintuitive!
