This doesn't work in scripting ...

mediaitem.CustomFields.Item(0).Value = ...

or

mediaitem.CustomFields.Item("fieldname").Value = ...

This problem has been around for a long long time now(see other posts) so please can support give me an indication as to when when it is to be fixed ... I've been waiting for ages to finish my application.

Item("fieldname") was recently introduced, but its introduction caused Item(Number) to break and I think that's why it was withdrawn. Item(Number) does work - maybe you should set an Option Base? IIRC it will generate an error if there are no custom fields in the catalogue.

Tell iView technical support you want it fixed.

John

Silly me ... yes, you've pointed out that my option base is incorrect.

So, I'll get by with using an index number (starting from 1 not 0).

Thanks anyway.

Steve.
