|With a CD I load from an HD all images onto the CD that are cataloged in the Catalog. I then use iView to reset the paths of that Catalog to the images on the CD. I then load that Catalog onto the CD. This I do easily by doing a couple of CD sessions with Toast.
That way when I open the CD the Catalog on the CD points to the images on the CD, not the images on the HD, which images no longer exist.
With a DVD I simply load all the images and the Catalog onto the DVD. When I open the DVD I copy the Catalog to the HD, open it with iView and reset the paths to thie images on the DVD. This I can do since I own iView. I have not found how to do the CD type of sessions on a DVD with Toast. For me this is ok. But not for the Reader.
With the Reader on the CD as set up above, the Catalog would point to the images on the CD and the Reader would be useful for sending images to someone that does not have iView.
However, with the DVD the paths in the Catalog point to the images on the HD from which the DVD was loaded.
I do not see any way to reset the paths with the Reader and the Reader seems to be, in this case, rather useless. Copying the images from the DVD to the current hard disk will not work, since the paths refer to my HD at the time of the loading of the DVD.
Suggestions on how to use the Reader with DVDs that have images and an iView catalog would be welcome. I have albums that I would like to send to family members with the Catalog and the Reader, but they do not fit on a CD.
