Hi,
I try to copy keywords from a large FileMaker databank to some selected photos corresponding in iView.
Everything works fine as far as it comes to write these keywords into the iView datas. I get the message:
„categories“ can not be written as "name" (for example)
Can somebody help me - I am not really an expert in Applescript :?

Here is the part of the script which doesn´t work:

on run
set selectedItems to GetSelection()
AboutScript()
tell window 1 of application "iView MediaPro"
repeat with theItem in selectedItems

set theimagename to the name of theItem as text

--find the photo in FileMaker

tell application "FileMaker Pro"
activate
show layout "Archiv : admin"
delete every request
create request
set cell "ImageName" of request 1 to theimagename
find

if record 1 exists then

--get keywords out of FileMaker

set TheCategories to the cell "category" of current record as text
set theKeywords to the cell "keyword" of current record as text
else
set TheCategories to "" as text
set theKeywords to "" as text
end if
end tell

tell application "iView MediaPro"
activate

--and here is, where I get the fault message

set categories to TheCategories as text
set keywords to theKeywords as text

end tell

end repeat
end tell
end run

After assign in variable TheCategories which form have the text?

To set them in MediaPro keywords and categories must be a list of terms.

Example to convert a string with comma delimiter to list :

set TheCategories to "cat1, cat2, cat3"
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to ","
set TheCategories to text items of TheCategories
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to ""
set categories of media item X to TheCategories

Thanks for your help, Daniel, you are right, categories and keywords from FileMaker are list of different words. I will try out if this works :-)
