I would like to invoke commands in iVew MediaPro that are apparenly not directly accessible from Applescript, for example "Sort" and "Show Rated", neither of which appears in the iView MediaPro dictionary. The only way to do this that I have found is through "UI Scripting", see http://www.apple.com/applescript/uiscripting/03.html.

Unfortunately, this does not seem to work with iView. Using the do_menu procedure proposed by Apple at the page referred to above, not even the following simple statement works:

do_menu("iView MediaPro", "File", "New")

To test, I verified with TextEdit:

do_menu("TextEdit", "File", "New")

works fine.

With iView you can see that the application reacts, and focus is given to its main window, which comes up on top, but the command is not executed.

Any ideas or proposals for other ways to invoke the commands I mention at the beginning of this post?
