I've coded something up in javascript that allows you to select a whole bunch of images in MediaPro, and display them as separate markers on a google map.

Optionally, you can also have thumbnails for each image displayed by clicking on the marker, like this (excuse the compression):

If anyone is interested, I can email the files. It requires a MediaPro script, and a separate script functions file for use by the html file that is generated by the MediaPro script (and a zoom icon displayed during mouse wheel zooming).

Further options for tweaking are limitless...

Mike

And here is a "live" example: Easter lunch running around.

Zoom in a bit, click Hybrid or Satellite, and then on the individual points for best experience.

Hi Dierk,

Thanks for posting the live example.

You know this already, but just pointing it out for others:

On Dierk's example you have to click on a marker twice to get the popup to display correctly around the thumbnail. Not sure why that is; this doesn't happen when the page is viewed locally, at least not on my system.

Doesn't help here. Locally it works as expected, on-line the background box around the image stays roughly half the size of the photo. curiously it worked in-between once or twice.

To me that points to Google, not your script.

[Edit]
Another hint, when I zoom in quite close in Satellite/Hybrid view, the background box resizes correctly.

Hi Mike,

I would be interested in having the script to try. We've recently bought iView to start cataloguing an architectural/assets archive of 50 000+ image files.

At the moment, we're looking at RoboGEO & Geo-tagger to get GPS data from shoots, but having this available in iVMP would be really handy for other departments to be able to view this information really quickly.

What's your script based on?

Thanks!

Rachel

(also - I'm originally from near the location showed on your map! We used to go to Long Crendon summer fetes and tug-o-wars :)

Hi Rachel

You should have mail.

This is all javascript based, using the google maps api for the mapping functionality (see http://www.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/).

I hope it works for you; and if it doesn't, the good thing is that it can be further customised and hacked around so that it does exactly what you want.

Let me know if you have any issues.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Old Toad

As far as I'm aware, these javascript files will only work with MediaPro on a PC, but you're welcome to them just in case...

Cheers,

Mike

Sounds like platform discrimination :)

Got the script and will give it a try. Might be a first. Let you know if it works.
