Can't get MP3 Genre tags into iView via Quicktime metadata?

I want to use iView as my mp3 librarian. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem able to handle Genre tags. I checked, and my mp3s have the Genre correctly specified as the kMDItemMusicalGenre tag, and the user's guide seems to imply that iView will import this into Intellectual Genre when bulding the catalog, but it just doesn't work.

Is there any way to get the program to recognize full Quicktime metadata and incorporate it into the catalog?
