I've been using iView for a couple of years, but this question just occurred to me and I haven't been able to find an answer in the manual or forums.

I know that each time you re-save a jpg, it causes slight damage to the file as it is compressed again. Does this also happen each time sync annotations to the original file is used?

I'm guessing that it isn't the same as re-saving the file as a jpg in photo editing software -- am I right?

Hi there,

Sync'ing annotations does not cause the image data to be re-written or compressed. It simply writes the appropriate unicode / text data into the fields in the file.

I hope that helps.
