Hello:
I am a happy user of IVMP 3.1.3 on Mac OS X (Leopard). I just recently bought a new external hard drive and I now want to move all my photos to that new drive. I am using the IVMP feature to create a directory each time I download photos from the camera, so all my files are arranged in folders, which I would like to keep. I do not want to move the files directory by directory, but all at once (because there are so many). I do not want to manually create new directories. Nearly all my pictures are tagged.
Under these conditions, what is the best way to move all the directories from one volume to another at once? Any hints?
Thank you very much for help,
Hinrich

Are all your folders located in a container folder? If so move the container folder and all its subfolders to the external HD in the Finder. Open the catalog file, select the container folder and use the Rest Folder Path contextual menu option.

Then navigate to and select the container folder on the external HD. That should reset all of the paths for the files. At least it does on the Mac platform.

Thank you very much for the reply. I always wondered what the "reset folder path" option was for; well, now I know. :-)
Thanks again,
Hinrich
